"Connection refused" makes me think that Invade Earth may be attempting to connect, but is unable to do so. If you could answer a couple of questions, it would help:

* When you attempt to connect to your own server, what address are you using in the connect box? Try "localhost" and "127.0.0.1" first.

* Are you running any software that may block outgoing connections, such as ZoneAlarm, Norton Internet Security, or something similar? If so, it may block unknown software from establishing connections on unfamiliar ports. Try temporarily disabling the software or running the server on a "familiar" port like 80.

I have not played Invade Earth in quite a while, but a buddy of mine and I tried to get a network game going tonight. We had NO luck. We got the following error (same as original post) - "Failed to Connect java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused: connect" We both uninstalled Invade Earth, reinstalled, and updated Java. We still could not resolve. Has this been a problem for anyone else lately? Is there a fix?

I haven't updated Invade Earth in quite some time, so there shouldn't be any new bugs.

If you can't even connect to a server on your computer, there is something strange going on... have you checked settings on your firewall etc.? If you are running a server, connecting to "0.0.0.0" from a client should work no matter what IP address you have.
