That's a generic connection message. If any of you are behind a gateway or router (e.g. a home wireless network), then the other players won't be able to connect to that computer unless you enable port-forwarding on the router. Try to find someone who has a direct connection to the internet to be the host, or read Smiley's network FAQ:
